ARCTIC CYCLES
This series of 52” diameter watercolors are all circular accordion artist’s books painted on site in the far north on or above the Arctic Circle in Alaska, Nunavut, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Svalbard and most recently in several sites in northwest Greenland. The full 360° panoramas are painted one page per hour for 24 hours—both in summer when the sun doesn’t set, and in winter when it doesn’t rise. The works can be viewed page-by-page, or fully unfolded and exhibited as paintings.
