I returned to Longyearbyen, Svalbard, for 6 weeks of Polar Night, while on Sabbatical in 2006--on a grant from the Vermont Community Foundation. Previous cycle books were done in larger towns, where buildings and other human efforts play a larger role in the landscape. Although there are a few buildings in these Svalbard works, nature truly predominates.
